art_works x Fair Art 2030
art_works was founded over 6 years ago (time flies!) with the intention of facilitating equitably-paid opportunities for those artists under-represented and un-represented within the traditional art ecosystem. Initially focused on connecting local artists to corporate art programs, our work has evolved to also encompass individual and institutional collections, project-based partnerships, and curatorial activations engaging a variety of publics. As our practice grows, one thing remains constant — our commitment to ensuring that the work we do meaningfully reflects the world and speaks to the people that live in it.
Because practices of reparative economic justice are baked into our mission, we consider the conversations now at the fore of the art world about building a more inclusive future to be the net-positive of a ground-shifting two years. This dialogue has been important; collective action has become vital.
To that end, and in the New Year’s spirit of setting intentions, art_works could not be more proud to announce that we have joined Fair Art 2030 as Ambassadors.
Fair Art 2030 is a pledge project and collective for equality and inclusion in the art world, a Fair Art Pledge and public promise that museums, galleries, art fairs, and organizations are invited to sign as an indication of their commitment to representing the full population in their collections, exhibitions, programming, and management by 2030.
